Nice clean place to hangout, grab food, and a drink. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. Food is very good. Taste and appearance are both appetizing. I ordered the Great Pinini and my girlfriend got a pony show. My salad was very fresh and the sweet and sour dressing was tasty. Just off the beaten path and easy to find.

Food has gone down hill here.
Used to be pretty good but very average now.
Some drinks are way overpriced too. I'll give it 2 stars for the good service. -

This is a casual eatery known for serving up a Springfield tradition and food staple: the "horseshoe," which is a slice of bread topped by some meat overlaid with French Fries, with the whole lot then smothered in cheese sauce.
Lunching with Diane and her best friend from high school, I ordered a Hamburger Horseshoe, the components of which were Texas Toast, a huge hamburger steak, mushrooms, grilled onions, and hand-cut homemade fries topped by White Cheese Sauce. It was a meal in itself.
Unfortunately, I found that I did not like this concoction. To me the bread was superfluous, and I prefer my fries--topped by cheese or not--next to a hamburger patty or hamburger steak instead of on top of it. The warm cheese sauce dominated the dish and caused the fries to quickly become sodden. And, fairly soon downing repeated mouthfuls of this cheesy mess became boring. The steak also was not medium rare as ordered. The fries were good but there were too many of them.
Diane's Pony--a junior horseshoe with less fries--was too spicy for her taste. Then her ordered Pork Tenderloin with cheese arrived without cheese.
There were other miscues here. There was a long wait for food after ordering. Unsweetened Tea was brought instead of ordered Sweet Tea. And a large fly inside the restaurant jumped on one of my tablemate's sweater. Horseshoes and horseflies?
XX-1/2 stars overall based on this single visit. -

Usually go here for lunch and get the tenderloin sandwich. It's pretty good. Took the family here for dinner. Order d 3 appetizers. All were just barely edible. Decided to have dinner somewhere else.

We like the food...really good salads, house dressing is very good. The horseshoe pizza is pretty yummy. Atmosphere is typical bar and grill. I'm giving 3 stars not 5 because they recently put in gaming machines into this small room. I watched as some young server yelled at a dad and his 2 year old daughter when the little girl went into the room. She was attracted to all the lights. So then after we ate my 6 year old son and I were waiting for my husband to use the restroom. My son stepped into the gaming area for all of 3 seconds when another young (rude toned) server girl game over to tell me "he can't be in there". RELAX a little people. One, put a door on the room. Two, don't be rude to customers that dine often in your establishment.
